About Muskan Foundation:

Muskan Foundation started its journey in the year 2001 as an unregistered organisation with one aim of uplifting PWDs and CSWN. Being myself disabled I always knew where the shoe pinches. During early years of the organisation we faced many hick ups as the State has not implemented policies of PWDs and CWSN. About 15 years till 2016 we could only help, uplift and provide relief unofficially to needy. It is only after 2016 when amendment of PWD Act 1995 transformed to RPWD Act 2016 and came into force at centre level. In 2017 we started the process to get our organisation registered at the state level completing all legal formalities slowly to strengthen Organisation. In April 2019 we were registered under Registar of Societies Act VI of 1998 by State govt. of J&K. Further recognised by RPWD Act 2016 in year 2021 and also On 17 Nov. Muskan Foundation got registration under The National Trust Act 1999, MoSJE, Govt Of India. From that moment till now we have been working in full support and collaboration of Centre and UT government to work for the cause of upliftment of PWDs and CWSN in particular and All people in need so that the real meaning of humanity prevails.

I am handicapped myself, so it was my endeavor from the very beginning that I should do something for the specially challenged persons so that they realize that they are such an important part of the society, Without whom this society is incomplete. Due to this thinking, I have started Udaan - Asha Ki Kiran Special School for differently abled children under Muskaan Foundation on 18th May 2020 and this is the first such school in Jammu and Kashmir which registered under The National Trust, MoSJE, GOI, in which 65 children suffering from Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mentally Retarded & Multiple disabilities are being enrolled. I am also running a high school of my own, but with the intention of giving all my time to these children, I am closing that school from April 2022 because now I have only one purpose in my life and for that I now spend all my life to specially challenged children and try to give them a better life.

Muskan Foundation which is a registered organisation of The National Trust also started Niramaya Health Insurance Scheme in which 1 lac health coverage is given to the PWDs suffering from Autism, Cerebral Palsy M.R. & Multiple Disablities in entire Jammu division. Niramaya Health Insurance Scheme - which is providing to be a boon for the disabled in the field of disability sector.
